"The Winemaker"

The Winemaker is a short film, shot in Dundee, OR at a small winery. The protagonist, Joanie, harbors a secret of cosmic proportions. A menacing gadget delivers a message that forces her to make a decision. Will she abandon all she’s built or stay and finish the year’s vintage before her enemies come for vengeance?

We raised enough to get the film through editing and to start VFX. We are at the home stretch. Donations will go to VFX, sound design, and music (and if there’s any extra—festival submission fees!)

Note: All donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

sci-fi, drama, short film.

We are seeking funding to finish post-production!

Our cast and crew were incredible. I’m so proud of the talented and diverse group that came together to create The Winemaker. Below is a sneak peek at some of the incredible people who made production a reality.

This movie wouldn’t have happened without the creative, resourceful, and kind producer, Daria Matza.

My talented cast (L to R): Anna Telfer, Ayanna Berkshire, director Sarey Martin, and Jeb Berrier.

Misty Eddy shot this film and made it look stunning! She also was an early cheerleader for the project, who made me feel like telling this story was important. Antonio Fogg (2nd AC) on the right.

First AC, Sam Sanchez (left) and grip, Jason Lee (right), getting the dolly ready in the barrel room.

That last shot feeling.

When I look at this photo, I remember exactly what I felt. It was indescribable. Getting that last shot of our movie on day 3 of filming! It literally feels like an impossible thing—to finish a movie—up until the last moment. I heard my A.D. Emily Laue make that announcement (on the far left in this photo) and did a crazy laugh-cry that left a mark.
